Indian para-athletes who placed medals in the Paralympics in Paris have been awarded a cash prize. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister of Sports, made the declaration on Tuesday. With 29 medals overall, including seven golds, India had its best-ever performance at these games. The decision was made to award gold medal winners in Paris with ₹75 lakh, silver medal winners with ₹50 lakh, and bronze medal winners with ₹30 lakh. Mixed team medal winners will also receive ₹22.5 lakh.

With their outstanding performance, India has now achieved the 50-medal mark in Paralympic competition history. Hundreds of fans showered the Paralympic medalists with garlands and candy when they returned to India on Tuesday. India took home 29 medals from the Paris Paralympics, including seven gold, nine silver, and thirteen bronze. It was a historic campaign.
Complete backing pledged for additional medals in the Los Angeles Paralympics
In order to help para-athletes win more gold in the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics, Mandaviya also pledged complete assistance and facilities. "The nation is making progress in para-sports and the Paralympics," he declared. India finished 18th in 2016 after winning four medals in Tokyo and 29 in Paris. India Beats the Tokyo Record
For India, the most successful Paralympics were the ones in Paris. India's greatest Paralympic performance to date was at Tokyo 2020, when 54 athletes competed and brought home 19 medals. Six bronze, eight silver, and five gold medals were among them. India's 20th medal in Paris broke the Paralympic record set in Tokyo.
Furthermore, India broke its Tokyo record of five golds by capturing seven golds.
